Abstract
Solar heating and drying using solar air collectors is an environmentally friendly and cost-effective method for drying various products such as grain, fruit, or even wood. These collectors, installed on the roof or in a sunny location, capture the sun's energy. Air circulates through these devices, where it is heated by solar heat, and is then directed into the building or into a storage system for later use. The technique uses solar energy to heat the air, which is then directed toward the product to be dried. Recent innovations focus on improving their performance, durability, and their integration into more complex systems to maximize solar capture. In the study, three types of solar collectors were analyzed using three-dimensional numerical simulation: the collector with four-tooth obstacles (SCFT), the collector with three teeth (SCTT), and the collector with two teeth (SCTWT). The thermal efficiency factor (THEF) exceeded 1 for all three models, indicating improved thermal efficiency, even when considering additional pressure losses. Among them, the SCTWT model displays the highest values, reaching 1.3670, followed by the SCTT model with a maximum value of 1.3331, and then the SCFT model, which reaches 1.3123.
